Chassis Fabrication Progress

Over the weekend, on the 20th and 21st, the team made serious headway on chassis fabrication. The chassis team members have been practicing TIG welding aluminum for several weeks, as none of the chassis team members had ever welded aluminum before. With that experience under their belts, they were prepared to start fabricating the final chassis. Fortunately, their fabrication skills were to be up to the task; the welds are looking good, and they were able to build segments at a brisk pace of 4-6 quality welds per hour. There is actually a bit more done than this picture shows, as it was taken on the first day of work. All of the bars for the chassis have been cut, and the two front A-frames have been welded. Expect another update with some more photos soon.
